Poetry
As with David, many writers express their love and praise to God through poetry. Poetry can be a vehicle with which we convey our emotions on the deepest level.
We hope you will enjoy the selections from a variety of poets. Each will have a style of their own.
This month we feature a poem entitled “The Fall of the Puppet Master” written by a 16 year old sophomore who attends a local school in the area. She goes by the pseudonym of ‘Lola.’
Read and understand the struggles and victories that many teenagers experience today.
The Fall of the Puppet Master
I can feel you in my veins
a cold venom slowly spreading
senses failing, wounds unhealing
nothing to numb the pain
I should have let you fall
instead you've taken over
corrupting this innocence
polluting this mind
you're selfish, and hated
despised and so jaded
I can't remember the last time I cried
Crazed you try to keep your place
afraid to loose control
trying not to lose grip
as your life crumbles down
a slave no longer will I be
I'm like a puppet whose strings are cut
you fall to your knees, watching
your kingdom in ruins
sinking into the ground
no one will save you now
Sorry for the things you've done
forever will you be, its time for
you to realize, I've grown stronger
I won't take your hand, won't fall again
I don't need you, I don't need you
